Viktor Geiger's family

My maternal grandfather, Viktor Geiger, the author of this story, was born in 1902 in Teke, a village in Transylvania, today Teaca in Romania.

He was the ninth out of ten children born to a Hungarian Catholic family.

Viktor's ancestors

• Viktor's father, Jozsef Geiger, was born in 1860 in Budakeszi.
  This town is just west of Budapest.
• Viktor's mother, Tomasofszky Anna, was born in Kolozsvár in 1862.

Anna's parents were innkeepers in this city of Transylvania, today Cluj-Napoca in Romania.

Among Viktor's brothers and sisters:

• Jozsef was a notary clerk . He married Ilona Zagoni.
• Anna married a protestant vicar, Molnár Ödön.
• Sarolta married twice; first to a policeman, István Vincze, then to an actor Dáncso Gyözö.
• Ilona married an engineer, Bense Lájos.
• Gyula was a Lawyer but preferred to be locksmith. He married Maria Cseri.
• Erzsébet married Kis István.
• Ernö was an accountant. He married Pop Matild.

Viktor married Maria Kosztaczky in 1928.

Viktor's descendants

The couple had two daughters, Gabriella and Marta.

Gabriella married Antal Balasko, an accountant, in 1948.

Antonia Balasko, Gabriella’s daughter, Viktor’s granddaughter, who translated his story, married André in 1973.
